Canon 5DS

I love this body- as you may or may not know the 5DS packs a punch with 50.6 megapixels. Whilst there is debate amid the photographic community as to whether this is really necessary; I will say this body is like steroids for any lens attached to it. This in my opinion justifies the cost.

This is not the only aspect of the 5DS worth noting. The 5DS is a very lightweight camera (for a professional DSLR) at 946g. This is great for taking out on long expeditions; the last thing you need is heavy camera gear lugging you down!

Canon 16-35 F4 IS II

The 16 -35 gives a great focal length not only for landscapes but also for portraiture. I personally shoot a lot of landscapes wide angle- so 16mm gives me more than enough to play with. Whilst I do use the zoom ie up to 35mm for landscapes I use this focal length more for portraits. 35mm gives wonderful portrait results- more useful generally for full body shots.

Canon 70-200mm F2.8 IS II

The 70-200mm is very sharp, combined with the 5DS this is a match made in heaven! This lens seems to have no end of use for me. I use it in all the genres I shoot in. Wildlife was the main reason I initially got this lens but I now use it for both portraits and landscapes.

This lens is quite heavy as its a large telescope with a lot of glass. Its definitely worth carrying though. I don't think you would regret having it in your kit bag... well worth the weight!

DJI Mavic Pro 2

Absolute gem in my eyes. Whilst it may have teething problems being a relatively new concept- mass produced drones. This piece of equipment unlocks a whole new world for you. There are numerous places which don’t photograph well on foot but look amazing on drone or just look better with one.

Honestly, if you don’t have a drone and you’re into photography. You are missing out big time!

The new update on the Mavic 2 is great. The fact you can now adjust your aperture (in comparison to the Mavic pro which you cannot change) is a huge game changer. Not to mention the hassleblad camera which is fantastic.

Canon 50mm f1.8

The least expensive yet arguably the best in the range of canon 50mm prime lens. This lens is tiny and lightweight. You won’t even notice it in your backpack. At 50mm it is for me better used in portraiture, however it could most definitely be used in landscape photography.

I picked up this lens after reading that it was sharper than the canon 14mm top range lens. I thought to myself if that’s even half true it’s worth it. At £120 the sharpness the autofocus everything is bang on. I’ve used lens worth £1000’s that aren’t nearly as good as this!

Canon 5D Mark ii

This is my second body. I love the mark ii absolute beast of a camera. I mean that both in the toughness sense, and in the quality sense of the word beast! My 5D Mark ii has been through some wars and always comes out on top on the other side. They don’t make them like this anymore!

They're now very affordable for a full frame camera and still have a high quality of image! I would highly recommend if you are not looking to burst the bank but want a full frame camera!
